A Reflective Message from Your President

Hello Members,

As my term as your President ends, I think of the words I chose for my term, “For Such a Time as These.”  When I chose that verse, I had no idea how much it would mean and how it would morph into much more than I had even imagined.  This year has been a stellar year for our chapter with accomplishments such as a 2-day summit with over 300 attendees, the honor of the Circle of Excellence President Award, 8 educational meetings, 4 outreach projects, 4 social events, and a big certification recognition dinner.  None of this would have been possible without the incredible officers, board, team leads, and our amazing 69 ambassadors!  Thank you all for your incredible dedication and time serving our members.

Along with our triumphs, there have also been many unexpected losses and challenges throughout this year. Our National theme, Courage to Soar, was so very fitting. We have faced these times together as a strong family, leaning on each other for support and comfort, holding each other up.  This is what we do, we are your “soft place to fall,” your support system that understands when others don’t. This strength has never been more evident than this year.

I can’t wait to see what the next year brings under President Kathleen Lopez’s leadership! “Kat” brings new energy, new ideas, new leaders to our chapter and is welcoming all comers who want to get more involved.  Our next big endeavor is our “kick-off” meeting, on September 9 at Benvenuto’s, Paving Your Path On Purpose, A Nursing Retreat of Professional and Personal Growth. Be sure to mark your calendars for this day of networking, education, and fun.
