MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT: HAPPY CERTIFICATION DAY!

Today we celebrate our members who have achieved certification in their specialties.  Congratulations!

It takes time, dedication, and money to attain certification, so why do it, who benefits?  First, our patients as shown by correlation studies that concluded patient outcomes improve when care is delivered by a certified nurse.  Second, our institutions benefit by having nurses who have been vetted and verified by national standards. Third, our profession as a whole is elevated when more nurses strive for more education. Lastly, but certainly, not least, the individual benefits by validation of their knowledge, expertise, and commitment, all are desirable attributes as well as being very marketable.  

Thank you again for your efforts to raise the bar.  Be proud of your achievements, your professionalism, and for having the Courage to Soar.
