CALL FOR NOMINATIONS 2024 – 2025

This is a call for nominations to all chapter members interested in running for election.  Nominations will be taken from March 12 – April 30.  A Meet the Candidates session will take place at the monthly chapter meeting on April 9, 2024.   The Palm Beach County Chapter of AACN will be holding elections for positions for 2024 -2025 term from May 7 – 21.   

The following positions are open:

• President Elect
• Secretary Elect
• Board of Directors

These positions are an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth and to work with amazing colleagues towards a goal of inclusiveness for all nurses, new and experienced, cohesiveness of our members, and professional and personal growth, covered with a layer of fun.

3. Attend the meeting on April 9, 2024 to participate in meet the candidate (optional)

Leadership meetings for all current and prospective officers/board:

Monthly every 1st Tuesday 7 -9 pm (Zoom)
Monthly every 2nd Tuesday Chapter meeting 6:30 -9:00

President Elect (3-year commitment)
Take office July 1st 2024 as President Elect
Serve and collaborate with 2024-25-chapter President (Tammie Couch) to guide and direct leadership team towards chapter goals.  Assist with planning board and chapter meetings, AV needs, conduct meetings in President’s absence. Voting member, votes on motions on behalf of chapter membership.
The person in this position will become the chapter President July 1 2025 and serve as such until June 30, 2026
From July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027 this person will serve on the board as immediate past President.

Secretary Elect (2-year commitment)

Take office July 1st 2024 as Secretary Elect
Serve and collaborate with 2024-25 Secretary  (Kathy Figueroa) to archive chapter events, meeting minutes, assist with announcements, flyers, and AV needs. Work closely with webmaster (Ronela Arandela) in posting information to website and social media. Voting member, votes on motions on behalf of chapter membership.
The person in this position will become the Secretary July 1 2025 and serve as such until June 30, 2026

Board of Directors (2-year commitment)

Take office July 1st 2024.
Works closely with officers to guide and direct chapter mission, values, goals, and direction.  Serves as leaders to the membership, hosts monthly meetings, serves on committees and acts as lead or co lead to any committee without one.  Mentors newer members to new roles and positions.  Voting member, votes on motions on behalf of chapter membership.
