University of Miami is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Pulmonology Level II for a nursing job in Miami, Florida.

The University of Miami Pulmonary Medicine Department has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse.

The Registered Nurse, completes the initial assessment prior to initial treatment and reassesses before each subsequent treatment. Provides for safety measures. Monitors the patient’s response to drug therapies and report untoward reactions to the physician.

Performs basic tasks independently so that minimal supervision is needed.

Bases suggestions and opinions for patient care on well established principles so that high quality of care is achieved.

Recognizes the role of the bronchoscopy nurse and how it relates to the overall functions of the hospital so that patients and their family perceive a high level of quality care.

Operates and maintains assigned equipment in an effective and safe manner; reports malfunctions to supervisor in a timely manner.

Ensures that incident reports are appropriately completed for any occurrence that is not consistent with the accepted standard of care, routine operating procedures or hospital policy.

Utilize appropriate interventions in medical emergencies.

Participate in quality assurance programs and ensures that all data collected is precise and accurate and handed in on time.

Collaborates with other team members. Follow facility, departmental and personnel policies and procedures.

Comply with the employee Code of Ethics and Standards of Behavior.

Attend mandatory educational programs and annual in-services.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

MININUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, Bachelor’s degree (BSN) preferred. RNs hired with an Associates (ASN) degree have 2 years to complete the BSN degree.

Registered Nurse License

Basic Life Support Certification (BLS-CPR Certification )

One (1) year Intensive Care Nursing experience
